How to learn identify species and biotopes, and our way to sustainable use of biodiversity?

I would like to ask all nature lovers in Vancouver, whether they would be interested in a
possibility of free public online service for identifying local wild flowers and orther organisms.

During my visits in Vancouver, I have enjoyed beauty of the local nature. In order to
conserve it, it would be good if people were able to easily identify species. Then both
native and invasive species could be properly taken care of. NatureGate® of Vancouver
would be a tool to promote sustainable use of biodiversity.

A pilot has been opened in Finland: http://www.naturegate.net

IUCN had the following news about it

Easily Identify Species with New Online Service from CEC Member in Finland
CEC looks forward to welcoming new member Mauri Ahlberg, a professor whose R&D team of
Eija and Jouko Lehmuskallio created a fast and free online service for species
identification. Designed for Finland, the idea can be replicated anywhere. …

Do you know people who would be interested in collaborating in such a huge effort? It would
involve creating a NatureGate® sister company to Vancouver, involving best experts in
plant systematics, best local nature photographers, successful business people etc
