Hey all!

Thanks for joining! Where do you run? Do you ever worry about safety, or what do you do to try and protect yourself? I'm new to the big city and I am a little paranoid!

OMG that is a beautiful picture! It is a bit of a commute, but maybe I'll try and go there on days off for a nice long and enjoyable run!! I will definitely take your advice!!!
Hey girl!

Click here to check out an article on running in stanley park!

It's pretty safe to run but I would run around the seawall ... very public area and very very beautiful!

Starting from Coal Harbour, it winds around Stanley Park, along Sunset Beach, around False Creek, past the Burrard Street Bridge, through Vanier Park, and finishes off at Kitsilano Beach Park.[

the article says 8.5 kms, is that all the way to Kits beach? I'd love to do it there and then back, that would be a great way to spend a morning!
Anyone running in this cold weather?! Personally, I live near Central Park in Burnaby, so I run around there. There's a great 5km loop, as well as other loops with various distances. However, I do NOT suggest anyone (especially females) should run alone through there, I've seen many sketchy looking people in the trails. Yes, I do worry about safety quite a bit. To protect myself, I don't wear earphones running through there, and only go during daylight hours.
Anyways, ran my 1st race of the year this past weekend in Steveston. Anyone else racing this year? (Besides The Sun Run)
Where is Central Park? I'm in North Burnaby (obviously still new to the area) and I haven't been out running yet but I'm itching to. There is the Burnaby Mountain loop that i've been considering but I would be running alone..... I am going to do the sun run and it will be my first 10kms...... I need to get back into training!
Central Park is in Burnaby too, at Kingsway and Boundary. I use to live in North Burnaby, and I use to run around the track behind Eileen Dailly pool, as well as the trails back there. I'm signed up for the Sun Run as well, but not sure if I'll be running it, as I busted my ankle a couple weeks ago. Had to forfeit 2 races that I was signed up for already. =( Good luck on your training, and I'm sure you'll have fun doing your 1st 10kms!
Perhaps we can go for a training run sometime (when I get back on my feet)
i'd love to meet up with people and go for a run! Let me know when your ankle is better :) I'm starting back on training tomorrow, got my nike + all ready to go and new headphones. I'm going to go up to the track off Hastings near Kensington Square. Is that where you used to run?? I hope your angle gets better soon!!
